Canada has signed separate agreements with each of the ten provinces and three territories for the nomination of skilled workers by those provinces and territories. By virtue of those agreements, Canadian provinces and Territories can nominate permanent residents to live in those provinces and meet the labor shortage and demand for skilled workers in those areas. The following provinces and territories are participating in this program:

• – New Found land & Labrador
• – Nunavut
• – Northern Territories
• – Ontario
• – Prince Edwards Island
• – Quebec (Separate agreement)
• – Saskatchewan

The provincial nomination program has been very popular in recent years due to the very high threshold of Federal programs. Provincial programs have comparatively soft eligibility criteria. However, each province has its own demographic composition due to which most of their nomination programs are either occupation-restricted or job offer based. For high-tech and technical jobs, the job offer route may work. Other applicants have to adopt the occupations in demand route.

Some PNPs are without job offers. Applicants are ranked according to their points. Highest scoring applicants in different occupations are invited to apply for Provincial nomination. Once the Provincial nomination is received, the application is put to the federal government either in Express Entry with additional 600 points in their CRS or a direct paper application for Permanent Residence.

Applicants are ranked for their Education, Age, Experience, English & French language skills, Education / Experience in that province, job offer, and relatives in that province.

Provinces do charge an application fee to applicants when they are invited to submit a full application. This fee varies between C$300-1500 for an application (whether a single person or one family application)

Next Steps: 

1. Eligible candidates are invited for a Zoom meeting with our consultant at which applicants get a chance to discuss their case at length.
2. Applicants are sent our retainer agreement
3. Upon receipt of the signed retainer agreement and initial installment of the Professional fee, the client file is opened at our end.
4. The client is sent a link to our CRM in which the client can track all his records, payment, upload documents, actions performed by our team, and the progress of the client application.
